This adapter converts an HDMI male connector on your existing cable to a DVI male connector

If you have a male connector on your HDMI cable you can plug it into the female HDMI connector on this adapter and cable will then have a male DVI connector on the end

This adapter can be used to connect HDMI cables to DVI monitors or HDMI cables to older televisions that have DVI inputs

Note: The photo of the HDMI side is a female connector but the metal cage of the connector is exposed instead of covered like it would be on the back of a piece of equipment

You can tell it is female because it has the locking tabs on the top instead of the divots that the tabs go into on the male connector
